Little Learners Math Fun
Meet your tutor

Hi, I’m Ms. Robia.

I help Arlington kids in kindergarten through 5th grade build a strong math foundation — and discover that math can be fun, not a source of stress.

Ms. Robia, math tutor in Arlington, Virginia
“Math is fun for me — and I want it to be fun, not a stress, for your child too.”

I’ve spent years helping Arlington students fall back in love with numbers — first as a private tutor, and as a substitute teacher right here in Arlington Public Schools classrooms.

What I’ve learned is simple: nearly every child who “hates math” has just hit one shaky spot — a missing piece of place value, a fuzzy idea of what a fraction really is — and then started to dread the whole subject. My job is to find that spot, fix it gently, and rebuild their confidence from there.

With a background in Statistics, I’m comfortable in the deep end of math — which means I can keep things genuinely simple for your child while always knowing where we’re headed.

Why you’re in good hands

A rare mix of school insight and real math depth.

An Arlington classroom insider

As an Arlington Public Schools substitute teacher, I’m in local elementary classrooms — so I know the exact curriculum, pace, and expectations your child faces every day. We don’t guess at what they’re learning; I already know it.

Math is genuinely my field

My honors degree is in Statistics. That means I don’t just re-explain a problem louder — I find the exact misconception behind a wrong answer and fix it at the root. Numbers are how I think.

Years of one-on-one results

I’ve tutored Arlington students one-on-one for years, including elementary math — building real skills and, just as importantly, real confidence, at each child’s own pace.

I speak your family’s language

I’m fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi — so I can connect warmly with Arlington’s many multilingual families.

How I teach

A clear method — not just “more practice.”

  1. Start with a diagnosis

Every child begins with a short, friendly assessment so we know exactly where the gaps and strengths are — no wasted sessions.

  2. Confidence first

A child who believes they “can’t do math” won’t learn it. We rebuild that belief with small wins before we push.

  3. Aligned to school

We reinforce the enVision lessons and Virginia SOL standards your child is actually taught and tested on in APS.

  4. You see the progress

Each month you get a clear report mapping your child’s mastery to grade-level standards — real numbers, not vague reassurance.
